Leandro Paredes had his breakout season last season when he starred at Empoli in Serie A, where he was on loan from Italian giants AS Roma. Considered an attacking midfielder as a youngster, a slight position change at Empoli provided him with the platform to express himself on the pitch and gain much local praise from the Italian press.
He was adopted in the deep lying playmaker role at Empoli, able to dictate the play with his excellent passing range, in a similar fashion to Andrea Pirlo. Though unlike Pirlo, Paredes likes to get stuck in and has a higher energy rate.
It looks like he will return to Roma next season, but there are persistent rumours than Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool is a big admirer of the young Argentine and is looking at bringing him to Anfield.
He was recently rewarded for his breakout season with a +3 to 86 and if he continues this form it isn’t out of the question that he could reach 89 by the end of the 2015/16 season.
